The Bureau sought local and national artists artworks for it’s inaugural Open Arts Exhibition. This showcase was free to enter and held categories for children, beginners and advanced levels. There is going to be a cash prize available for the winner in each category.


Submissions where needed for The Bureau Centre for the Arts exhibition, which then would be held within the 250 year old Georgian disused church, situated in the centre of Blackburn.

Craft and textiles




The deadline for entries was the 11 March and the work needed to be delivered by the 14 March. The exhibition opening night is the 17 March. This will be a two week exhibition and the prizewinners are to be notified at the end of the exhibition.


Resident artist at The Bureau, Sonny J. Barker said that he is excited at the prospect of showcasing local and national artists at different levels within the centre that was just formed quite recently. I’ll be intrigued in what artworks we will be receiving and looking forward to the exhibition itself.
